ABOUT US

WHAT IS CSI ?

The Computer Society of India has come a long way since its foundation in 1965. The founding members felt the need to organize their activities and also wanted to share their knowledge and exchange ideas about the computer sector which was then newly emerging. Today the CSI takes pride in being the largest and most professionally managed association of and for IT professionals in India. It has 72 chapters across India, 511 student branches, and 100,000 members. The purpose of the Society are, Scientific and Educational directed towards the advancement of the theory and practice of computer science and IT.

WHAT WE DO ?

The CSI Campus Chapter of SIES-GST is a part of the well established network of student branches across the country. The Chapter activities are managed by a committee of elected members. The Chapter annually conducts INNOVATIONS, a National Level Technical Project Competition. Additionally, various workshops, seminars, programming contests, are conducted for the members of the CSI Campus Chapter. The idea is to spread the knowledge, and provide opportunities to as many interested as possible.

MAGAZINE 2K23 EDITION

Welcome to the second edition of MEGABYTE, the official technical magazine of the CSI Student Chapter of SIES Graduate School of Technology. We stepped into this challenging arena with the motive of learning something new. Putting together a magazine is no cake walk and the finished product that you hold is the result of the efforts put in by the entire Magazine Team.

MEGABYTE basically denotes the purpose of the magazine that is to chronicle different technological developments around the world, along with extraordinary achievements of the students of SIES GST.

This issue brings to you diverse articles such as open source Technologies, advancements in Indian IT industry, sustainable inventions, etc. In addition to this, we have exclusive interviews with our very own alumni’s working in Technical and Non technical fields. The contributions made by the authors of articles in this Magazine are invaluable. Do keep your eyes on this magazine in the upcoming years. Everything we do derives from its long-standing character, approach and quality – while we continue to produce the further editions with as much love as ever.

ENIGMA 2K24 RECAP

2K24 EVENT

The Enigma's main goal is to raise public awareness about digital security scams. Participants can explore various aspects of digital security, including but not limited to online privacy, blockchain, cybersecurity, data protection, and the impact of emerging technologies. CSI SIESGST is holding a Poster presentation competition to raise public awareness and provide a platform for engineers, students, and privacy enthusiasts to present their solutions for the pressing digital security challenges of our day and age.

INNOVATIONS 2K23 RECAP

2K23 EVENT

INNOVATIONS is a national level project competition conducted annually by the CSI Campus Chapter of SIES Graduate School of Technology. It serves as a platform for young minds to take this window of opportunity and bring forward their innovative ideas in the form of projects. Each year teams from various institutes all over Maharashtra as well as Other States, participate in Innovations at large numbers.Innovations 2019 achieved a milestone when it received over a 100 abstract submissions, a feat never seen before.The projects were from various fields such as Computers, Information Technology, Electronics, Internet of Things, Robotics, Mechanical, etc. Out of the received abstracts,45 projects were selected for the competition after carefully analysing each project based on parameters such as novelty, effectiveness, positive impact on society and scalability.

CSI SIES GST conducted a comprehensive outreach program at SIES School, Matunga, enlightening students about the significance of online presence and cyber security. Members from CSI SIES GST engaged students with informative sessions, emphasizing the importance of managing their digital footprint, while also educating them on the various online threats and practical protection strategies. Interactive workshops and open discussions empowered students with essential knowledge and skills to navigate the online world safely and responsibly, leaving a lasting impact on their digital awareness.
